Juste wow Kara CVerified Excellent First Diner in Puerta Vallarta The first night in a new place can be hectic, so I took a quick look at reviews and ended up at Gaby's as it was just a few minutes walk from our Airbnb. We could not have been more pleased. We each had a different fish dish (so we could share) and both were great, beautiful presentation as well. With drinks and tip, our bill was about 65 USD, tax is included in the menu price. We sat outside and had a nice view. No wait and friendly service. Christine MVerified Excellent cooking class! On a whim we booked the cooking class with Chef Julio. What an interesting, engaging, entertaining and delicious experience! Loved the trip to many vendors used by Chef Julio and his connections to the people and their products was very evident. He was always happy to share with us other restaurants or taco stands that made the best local specialities. Back at the rooftop kitchen we all worked together to create our delicious meal. Would definitely recommend adding this experience to your list of things to do in PV. Maciek SVerified Excellent experience at culinary classes We took a cooking class at Gaby's and it was just a fantastic experience. Chef Julio Cesar is not only a chef, but historian anf a great tour guide. We walked through the old town visiting various stores and buying provisions for our meal. We then cooked more dishes that I can list here - several excellent salsas, tacos, ceviche, fish, all full of flavor. We learned a lot about history of Mexico and Mexican food. And we had a ton of fun. If you can just stop here for a lunch or dinner, do just that, but we highly recommend the cooking class as truly wholesome experience. Colleen MVerified #1 Cooking class according to chatgpt The entire cooking Class from the moment we arrived till the end was so fun, informative and delicious . We were a group of 8 friends from Canada and we all loved it. Chef Julio, Aldo and Dulce were all amazing. Thank you for a great day. Clarice TVerified Cooking class and Cultural Experience extraordinaire! The day started with a history lesson and plan for the day. Then we walked to the Old Town, stopping at the fish monger, produce market, tortilla shop and butcher to purchase the food for our meal. We sampled a fresh corn tortilla warm off the press. Some of us walked back, others went in the van with the groceries. Then the cooking began in the roof top kitchen! Chef Julio assigned different tasks to each person, so the only downside was that you didn't get to see how everything was made. We made 3 kinds of salsa, guacamole, 3 sauces, ceviche, tortilla chips and then enjoyed our "Taco Bar". Then Chef made his "secret mole", which we enjoyed with chicken and rice. Finally we sampled Chile relenos. Mmmm! Chef gave us lots of tips on buying produce, proper ways to slice and dice, and we each left with a digital cookbook! It was a full day, 8:45am to 3pm. I highly recommend this activity! Mike CVerified Delicious 👍😎 We thoroughly enjoyed our experience 5 stars The Marquitas were wonderful the staff so friendly😎 I had the chile relleno stuffed with shrimp Was absolutely delicious My husband had Gabys Fajitas combo mix also awesome Atmosphere is really nice and a fellow playing the harp was beautiful So worth going 😋✌️🇨🇦 Gemma BVerified Awesome cooking class/tour/history lesson!! I did chef Julio’s cooking class with my family and had an amazing time! I loved that it was like a walking tour, history lesson, and cooking class all in one- getting to meet local vendors that were the chefs buddies from high school and learn the history/details of what they were selling was really interesting and felt like an authentic way to learn more about the city. I learned lots of good tips on how to pick the best produce to cook with! The class itself was lots of fun, we worked together to make a ton of different salsas and dishes and had a super delicious feast, I was stuffed afterwards! I can’t wait to try recreating some of the dishes back home. Thank you to chef Julio and his awesome assistants for sharing their beautiful rooftop kitchen and their culture with us! Gillian BVerified So much more than a fabulous cooking class Chef Julio’s class was a highlight of our trip to Puerto Vallarta. A full itinerary of walking tour, history lesson, food knowledge -even how to pick ingredients at the market - and a gorgeous rooftop kitchen for our cooking class followed by a delicious feast! Would highly recommend this to anyone keen to better understand this area, its rich history, and the wonderful flavours of this region. Also really loved how Chef Julio highlights so many vendors throughout the neighbourhood as we picked up ingredients…building on our list of places to visit! Very friendly and fun, would do it again on my next visit. SRVerified Wonderful cooking class! We took the Friday cooking class and had a great time with the team at Gaby’s! Chef Julio is a fantastic tour guide, instructor and chef. We prepared and enjoyed so much amazing food including chicken mole with red rice, chile relleno, ceviche, tortillas and tons of salsas and toppings. It was one of our favorite days of our PV trip!
